Community Service at Hope Community Church

Serving our neighbors in Platt Park and Greater Denver...
From down the street to around the world...

Serving our community and neighborhood is something Hope CC feels very called to do. Being an agent of positive change and love in the lives of those around us is a challenge we take very seriously, if there are needs in the community that Hope could assist in meeting please let us know.

Here are a few of the ways that Hope reaches out to the community:

We recently developed Hope Park, The Park is a quiet open space on the SE corner of Grant St. and Colorado Ave. Having this space on the church property has been a great connection point with the community. Continuously having neighbors enjoy the park to read, walk dogs, relax, run and play as been great. Hope also utilizes the park for outdoor meetings, BBQs and personal worship.

Our pastoral staff meets monthly with a number of other church leaders in the area to build a sense of community and purpose amongst our churches. By listening to God and working together we can be much more effective in our community. (John 13:34-5)

During the summer months Hope CC joins with the other neighborhood churches for prayer walks. During the walk we take time to pray specifically for our community - families, schools, businesses and churches.

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt in Platt Park draws many children and families from the community out for a fun time of fellowship and hearing of the Grace given us in Jesus Christ.

Every Summer children for the neighborhood seem magnetically drawn to Hope's week long, high energy, themed day camp. Here kids can have a great time, be themselves and learn for a friendly and caring group of volunteers in full costume. In 2008 Hope worked with a nearby church to host over 125 kids for an amazing, fun week. (Further info under "Childrens Ministry")

We partner with numerous other churches, the Mayor's office and the Denver Rescue Mission to provide funds, transitional assistance, and a mentoring team to minister to a specific homeless family or senior citizen.

Hope also maintains a fund in order to assist those around us who are in need of various things such as food, clothing, toiletries etc. Volunteers also prepare knap sacks for the homeless, and folks are encouraged to give these knap sacks freely to those they encounter who are in need. These kits contain basic supplies, food, clean water, transitional assistance information and a Bible.
